Stolen Signal Incursion Guide


Stolen Signal is a Hostage Rescue mission with 4 different encounters. Each encounter has unique mechanics and Ballistic Shields as well as MMRs play a major role in this incursion.


Recommended Abilities

  • Support Station (Life Support)
  • Ballistic Shield (Reactive Targeting)
  • Mobile Cover - some fights have very limited cover.

Recommended Weapons

  • Marksman Rifles - Bosses are generally well concealed and at a distance.

Recommended Gear Sets

  • Most Gear Sets are viable, fight strategy and execution is more important than gear for this Incursion.

The Hostage Rooms


Each hostage must be rescued from each of the 3 rooms before you can access the final room. Each room will have 1 boss and you will get loot from killing each boss.

Hostage 1 – News Room (door on the right)

Getting to the News Room
  • 1 player picks up the Circuit Breaker
  • 3 players with Ballistic Shield need to defend the Circuit Breaker carrier from automatic turret fire
  • Drop Support Stations and First Aids as needed for healing.

How to Protect the Hostage: kill the Rusher




Stop the Rusher
  • Every 30 seconds (approx.) a Rusher will spawn from one of the doors at back left, or back right.
  • Kill this Rusher before he kills the Hostage.

Boss: Checkers (Sniper)
  • He stays on the balcony
  • Snipers are recommended to DPS the boss
  • Waves of enemies spawn every time you take away 10% of the boss's health.
  • The faster you damage the boss, the faster the waves spawn which can result in your squad being overwhelmed.

Dealing with waves of enemies
  • Enemies will spawn on the balcony with checkers and at the doors near the back of the room.
  • The enemy spawns make cover usage very difficult, you are often exposed from at least 1 side
  • Good cover locations are against the side walls of the room but seek new cover as needed
  • Have at least 1 player using Ballistic Shield is very helpful for reducing deaths from poor cover

Hostage 2 – Starbreak Stage (door on the left)

Getting to the Startbreak Stage
  • A few heavies, nothing difficult or special here

How to Protect the Hostage: kill the Heavy

Boss: Curveball (Grenadier)
  • The boss stays on the main stage
  • He throws grenades at you (stay spread out)
  • Snipers are recommended to DPS the boss

Electrical Surge

The entire floor is flooded with water. Every 30 seconds (approx.) an electrical surge will Shock anyone who is standing in the water. There are 2 ways to avoid this shock:


  • Stand on one of the boxes/tables
  • Stand on the raised white areas in front of the judge’s seats

The alternative option is to ignore the Shock altogether. The damage is small but you can still die since the Shock forces your character to stand out of cover for about 2 seconds. The image below shows the “safe areas”.

You can also throw out a Mobile Cover in front of the safe areas, but you still need to move to dodge the grenades.

Stop the Heavy
  • Every time you deal 15% (approx.) of the boss’s health a Heavy will spawn.
  • You must kill the Heavy within 30 seconds or it will shoot the hostage and you will fail.

Burn Phase (boss at low HP)

Once you remove the bosses Armor (white health) he will continue to spawn Heavies that will kill the Hostage. The best strategy for this phase is to make sure you have a Tactical Link ready before you push the boss into this phase. Pop the tactical link, kill the boss, and then kill the Heavy. Some teams may need to kill the Heavy first.



Hostage 3 – Studio 3 (upstairs door)

Getting to Studio 3
  • You will get rushed by a large group of shotgunners (about 15 of them)
  • Flame Turrets/Gas Grenades are recommended

How to Protect the Hostage: prevent Rikers from arming the explosive


Boss: Pigstick
  • He will regularly switch balconies
  • Snipers are recommended to DPS the boss

Prevent Rikers from arming the explosive
  • The explosive is located in the middle of the room and enemies spawn from all sides.
  • Heavies and Shotgun Rushers will spawn in waves
  • Ballistic Shields are helpful to prevent your team from getting killed from behind by a bad enemy spawn

Protect the Bomb from Pigstick
  • When Pigstick loses his armor he will jump down from the balcony and run towards the bomb.
  • DPS him down quickly, use Tactical Link if possible.

How to Protect the Hostages: stand in front of the Hostages with a Riot Shield

Boss 1: Jackalope (Rusher)
  • Use at least 2 ballistic shields to prevent deaths (he will flank)
  • Hip fire over cover is still very effective while being less risky

Boss 2: Bighorn (Rusher)
  • Use at least 2 ballistic shields to prevent deaths (he will flank)
  • Hip fire over cover is still very effective while being less risky

Boss 3: Bobcat (Rusher)
  • Use at least 2 ballistic shields to prevent deaths (he will flank)
  • Hip fire over cover is still very effective while being less risky

Protect the Hostages
Stand between the minigun and the Hostage using the Ballistic Shield to protect them.

Blocking the minigun bullets – even with low skill power the Ballistic Shield is effective.

Activate the Pyrotechnics
  • The pyrotechnic locations are exposed to the minigun and it will shoot you while you attempt to interact
  • Have a player with the Ballistic Shield while you complete the activation (it takes a few seconds)

Free the Hostages
After defeating the minigun you still need to free the hostages to earn additional rewards!
